Our engineers have worked in the armed services, schools, private industry and government agencies. This gives them the background to work with clients in the government, educational institutions, the military and the private sector. Our clients include departments of Natural Resources and Transportation, Cargill, British Aerospace, Andromeda Systems, Clearroads, etc.
The following is a list of some of our most recent work and some of our clients.
Mojave National Park
In September 2010 TEC is installing solar panels in the Hole in the Wall campground at the Mojave National Park. These panels will provide electric power for the nature center there.
Solar Powered Temperature Sensors
Starting in 2005 TEC has developed solar powered pavement temperature sensors for Cargill. The sun provides the power to collect data, assemble messages and trasmit the data via wireless networks.
Solar Powered Traffic Signals
TEC designed and installed a road closure system for Minnesota for hazardous weather events. This included solar powered traffic signals, remote communications all with a web-based interface.
Mining and Emergency Response Vehicles
TEC designed and installed on board sensors for mining and emergency response vehicles for British Aerospace and Andromeda Systems. These are used in Ohio and Nevada and they improved safety and efficiency.
A new standard for mobile data platforms
In March 2010 TEC finished a protocol standard for ClearRoads a consortium of 14 state Department of Transportations.
Survey for Boating Safety
In January 2008 TEC surveyed boaters about PFD (personal floatation device) usage. We also collected water temperature, surface conditions, and weather information, automatically using volunteers and a website.
